Preparing to operate CW

So, I'm getting really close to trying to operate on the air live. I still need a bit more practice, but hey, who doesn't? I'm on lesson 28/40 on LCWO, but I have done fairly well with Morse Runner, and copying whole sentances, and other fun stuff like that. So, here's how I'm going to do it.
1. Get a CW key. The one I've decided on is the Czech key. It's a nice looking key, well recommended, from a well recommended company, and at a reasonable price.
2. Make the cable. Basically, buying a connector at Radio Shack, making the appropriate connections, buying some intercomm cable for the cable, all together will seem to do the trick.
3. Practice a bit with the CW key. Just hooking it in to the radio should do pretty well for that.
4. Figure out how to make the radio actually transmit. This part is the fun stage!
5. Adjust the key as needed.

Hopefully I'll be on the air soon. I can't wait to talk to some of you all via CW!
