I really have enjoyed my Icom IC-735. I really believe it is the best radio that I could buy at the time I bought it, and a fantastic buy for the money I spend. However, I've run in to my first problem with it, and I'm hoping by posting the details, someone out there can point me in the right direction.
A journey of learning about Amateur Radio, from my own beginnings, to helping my kids learn about it. Complete with a view point of a new Ham, and lessons to help a person get up to a technical class license or beyond. Also contains other interests, including programming Android, Unity, and Python.

FT-60R Review
I recently purchased a handheld radio, for those times where I really just don't want to bring my full mobile station along. The radio isn't bad, but it's a pain to take the battery around... Still, being the Ham that I am, I want to have communication in remote areas, and I do a fair bit of hiking and such. Enter my newest radio toy, the FT-60R.

Lesson 9- Setting up your First Amateur Station
So, you have your Amateur Radio License, and are looking to buy your first Amateur Radio to get started. What exactly do you need to get? In addition, what are some upgrades you might be able to get to do more with your station than you otherwise could do? In this lesson, I will discuss what an Amateur Station requires at a minimum, what some common upgrades are, and what some of the less common upgrades are that a person can do with an Amateur Station.

Good Inexpensive Used HF rigs
Given a limited budget, I've been looking carefully at used HF rigs. Here's a list of potential candidates that I've been looking at, hopefully I'll find a good radio among them at a good price. These have come from a variety of sources, mostly my Ham Radio Club, but there have been a few others as well. Hopefully I can help some of those in the same predicament that I am in.

Looking for an HF starter radio
I've got my amateur extra license, and as a result, I would really like to get on HF. I've been doing quite a bit of research into the radio, antenna, and other gear that I will need to make my HF experience awesome, and to be able to talk across the world!
